Back on the Boat

On the water, we sail.

I sit by the helm, enjoying the touch of the wind and the salt in the air. The waves sing to me a song of freedom, and I breathe.

A month of hugs and love, but a month away from my place. From the sea.

And even though I've been living on the sea for almost two years, sometimes I forget that.

Funny, isn't it?!

So let me share with you a few more facts:

⛵️ I can sit at the helm for hours and not get bored. Except for night sailing without the moon when you can't see anything.

⛵️ I love sea showers the most (washing and jumping into the sea and rinsing with fresh water)

⛵️ Raising anchor after a week or more in the bay always excites me. I am full of anticipation for what will come next.

⛵️ I enjoy the simplicity of life on a boat - we are independent and mainly rely on ourselves and the weather (and the ability to obtain spare parts...), although reliance on the weather can be a bit stressful at times.

⛵️ I suffer from seasickness quite a bit. That's why you'll usually find me at the helm during sailing time while Sergey takes care of the kids and food.

⛵️ I don't like long sailing trips. A few days is the maximum, preferably not more than two nights.

⛵️ Seafood or fish dishes are not my first choice, and I don't enjoy catching them.

⛵️ There's no way I'm getting into the water when it's dark. Sergey (bless him) waits in the water until I'm done.

Surprised?
